Amidst the immense competition present between restaurants in Dubai, a shining star is emerging from the Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai – the French-inspired Bleu Blanc by David Myers. At the helm is US chef David Myers who brings his love of cooking to an elegant yet charming space. Myers is often referred to as a gypsy in his own right, infusing flavors from around the world into a fantastic Friday brunch that you can’t miss.
It’s best to come to Bleu Blanc by David Myers with an appetite for all things luxurious, as items like Oxtail Tartine and black truffle-laced Mac & Cheese set the tone. While much of the menu is designed to provoke complex flavor combinations, the restaurant also loves to bring a simple perspective to classic dishes.
Inspiration Galore
In some ways, one can compare the feeling of Dubai’s social scene to that of Southern France, where fine dining and relaxation are top priorities. David Myers instantly drew this connection when creating his menu and talks about what makes Bleu Blanc by David Myers’s Friday brunch so special:
Salt Baked Beets Avocado and Egg Tartine Charred Tiger Prawns
“We like to serve food that is really really warm and very French in style. In the South of France it’s very much a party place to relax and have fun, so we wanted to really embody that in what we’re doing here. Some of our signature dishes are really always about the grill because our grill is the centerpiece here. We have a live fire with a beautiful wood burning grill and we like to grill as much as we can.”
Upon entering the finely appointed space, patrons do instantly notice the large grill as it was designed to be a main focal point that offers a rustic touch. A floor-to-ceiling herb garden along with sophisticated yet understated decor transports you to France in a heartbeat. Low lighting helps to complete the ambiance without feeling too dark.
